ACTIVE AGING SEMINAR IN ROME ...ADVICE FOR PROSPECTIVE RETIREES AND PENSIONERS

I attended a very interesting  seminar on retirement.  Various topics were discussed, among which, where to retire, leading a healthy lifestyle, health and nutrition, personal action planning, ways to remain active, financial issues, etc.

Many thanks to Peggy Nelson, Ricky Holcombe,  and their assistants Sayaka Alessandra and Laura Locicero, for the wonderful organization and planning.

  1. Sounds like a good idea to me. We are pretty happy with the French group we have joined to keep us active, plus of course we are keen cyclists though I am slowing down!! Diane

  4. Always a good idea to have a plan! I didn't, and it's taken me ten years of retirement to figure things out. I wish I had known all the things I learned the hard way.

  5. That sounds like a good idea. I attended retirement seminars at my work places but they only dealt with the financial part. I am glad for what I did learn!

  6. Francesca, We have it easy where we've retired. It's an open community of 7,200 residents...with some working adults and children included...spread along 9 miles of freshwater lake shoreline. We have mountains, forests and rivers along with moderate weather. (4 seasons) One can bury themselves in activities if one wants. There are all kinds of sports, (3 golf courses), clubs and games...plus volunteer action groups to keep a retired person busy. The key is moderation and finding something you like to do. Best wishes and take care, Big Daddy Dave

  12. Hello Francesca!

This sounds like an interesting retirement seminar. I've been retired a few years and luckily I've never been bored --I'm busier than ever.

I am now following you -- my husband is from Calabria so it will be interesting for both of us to hear your news form Sicily.

  13. It is good to get as much advice as possible before your retire. My advice is keep a check on how much money you spend each year so you know how much you need in retirement. One never gets bored there is so much to do.
