Favignana was, like most of Sicily, occupied by the Arabs in the Middle Ages. It is now one of the most famous tourist destinations in Sicily. It is famous for the mattanza - the tuna fishing - which takes place in May every year. Because of its calcareous rocks (tufo) it has few beaches. Favignana is however popular for snorkeling and scuba diving.
Ready to go! A 15 minute bus ride, then a one-hour ferry ride and I'll reach enchanting Favignana.
