THE CITY OF SALT AND CORAL / LA CITTA' DEL SALE E DEL CORALLO

Trapani is a small port city in Northwestern Sicily, with a population of about 70,000 and whose economy still depends mostly on the sea.  The city was relatively unknown outside of Italy until 5 years ago when Ryan Airways made Trapani its hub linking it with most major cities in Europe. Now tourists from all over Europe flock to the city. Huge international cruise ships also dock in its port.

Here are some pictures of Trapani:

  1. You look beautiful and healthy in your red ensemble today! It is funny you write about salt as I am reading a book on salt and my latest blog post is about the same. How great that you live so close to good salt!

  2. I visited Taormina a couple of years ago, and absolutely loved it there. We would like to visit the island again, and have been looking around at other areas, so who knows, I could end up in Trapani.

  4. Trapani sounds like a wonderful place to visit - the photos are beautiful. I noticed the windmill in one of them and a lot of salt. Beautiful ring and earrings - did you purchase these. I sure could dig into some of that pastry you are holding - you look wonderful in RED. Delightfully salty post. he,he
