My daughter, Sayaka Alessandra and I are hooked on American food. I grew up in New York so I miss  Twinkies, chocolate kisses, candy corn and other such treats. These  products, however, are not available here in Sicily.

Recently, Sayaka found an online shop  in France which sells American food  Here are some of the products we ordered:

Macaroni and Cheese,  Reese's, and  Betty Crocker  Pie Crust

Who can ask for anything more?
A Cookbook of iconic American recipes....en français, so Sayaka and I can practice our French:)

My daughter, Sayaka Alessandra, and I decided to make sushi. Here are the sushi chefs at work. It's not the sushi you find in Japanese restaurants, we made the homestyle sushi....called NORIMAKI.

Sayaka mixing the rice with  salt, sugar, and  rice vinegar)

The ingredients:  sushi rice, nori, tamago-yaki (Japanese omelette made with dashi, sugar, mirin (sweet sake)  soy sauce);   (carrots simmered in mirin, sugar and soy sauce; tuna mixed with mayonnaise; fresh cucumbers

Bob Dylan sang The Times They Are A Changin'  but here in Sicily it's the weather that is a changin'...we are in December and although it is still pretty warm, 22 degrees C today...  it's gradually getting cooler and windier as you can see from the pictures.

Going a shoppin' :)
