NO BREAD IN THE PANTRY?

Very often you find that just when you want to eat bread....the breadbox is empty! You can make it at home, either by hand or by machine, but it will take hours to be ready.... and you want it NOW! You try to find a quick-bread recipe, but they all take time to make, even soda bread takes about 25-30 minutes  to make. So, what is the solution?

If you have ever been to India, or to an Indian restaurant, you will have noticed something called CHAPPATI. Chappati is the fastest and easiest bread to make. Just mix wholemeal flour with a bit of water, and cook.

You will need  about 250 g. of wholewheat flour and 175 ml. water.  Mix together and knead into a smooth ball. Cut into 15 pieces and  roll each one  out into a circle  and cook on a hot pan. When it puffs up it's ready.

  1. Francesca, I didn't know that it was this easy to make Chappati! In general we avoid baking at home because we love baked goods... This wouldn't be so bad for us... Thanks and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
