A day trip

Marsala is the port where Giuseppe Garibaldi landed with his "Mille", (a  thousand soldiers). It is also the city of Marsala all'Uovo,  the famous sweet wine. On the outskirts of Marsala, you can find the characteristic salt lagoons, from where we get our salt.

Here is a short video of the city, then below you will find pictures.

  1. Francesca, Thanks for the photos & film. Here in the States we forget just how far back recorded history goes in Europe. We think that the mid-1700s is old but Marsala and other cities on that site date back to at least the 4th Century BCE. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  3. I've not been to Marsala myself but it sounds and looks like a place I could explore for days! Wasn't Marsala Red last year's Colour of the Year?

  4. Lovely film and great photos. I love history and its always fun to read about new places and discover great pizza. I very often make my own pizza as I like mine, but would love to try this place out. My mouth is watering for pizza now. :)
