One of each / Uno di ognuno

As I have said several times in my previous posts, it's rather chilly here in Sicily these days. Not polar cold, but definitely not warm enough to wear sleeveless shirts. I like to keep warm so I bought THREE neck warmers from a new shop recently opened CAPRICCI TP.

Checkered Style part 2

As you can see, I am obsessed with checkers.  Here are some other outfits. The weather these days is pretty cool. Cool in the sense of nice. It's rather sunny and I would say warm, except for the wind ....our usual scirocco... which is quite chilly.

This dress is from Voodoo Vixen. I stole it from my daughter ... obviously.

Checkered style Part 1

We are having a warm January, and let's keep our fingers crossed, this nice weather will continue till spring. We have a saying here in Sicily  "MARZO PAZZO" (Crazy March), and it's so called because the weather in March is unpredictable ....WINDY, RAINY and COLD.

The famous ANISETTE cookies by STELLA D'ORO .... made by me

When we lived in New York I would have these cookies, ANISETTE,  almost every morning for breakfast before going to work. They are delicious with tea. The ones in New York were made by the famous STELLA D'ORO company. These here below were made by me. Very easy to make, all you need is eggs, sugar, flour and anise seeds.

How to eat a Cannolo

Forget the knife, the fork, the spoon ... a cannolo is eaten with your hands, like a barbarian!

Il cannolo si mangia con le mani, non con cucchiaio, forchetta e coltello.

A typical Italian New Year breakfast

For New Year we buy so many Panettoni that we have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some people make Panettone sandwiches with prosciutto, cheese and whatever. Others make all kinds of desserts using leftover Panettone.

New Year's Day in town

New Year's day was  sunny and quite warm, splendid weather... you can see the gorgeous blue sky in the pictures below...so we decided to go out for lunch and have a stroll in the park. Here are some pictures

This is what I call a LADY.... did you ever see such elegant manners? I couldn't find my glass so I drank straight from the bottle. In Rome they call such behavior "alla Burrina", another way of saying boorish, uncivilized etc. etc.
